Our aim with Team England 40k is not just to create a team of top players who can compete with the very best in the world - it's also to build a strong community as a foundation for the national team, built on our four non-negotiable pillars of Pride, Responsibility, Respect and Sportsmanship. Playing the game the right way is essential if you want to be part of our community, and doubly so if you want to represent England at the highest level.
The intention for this community is to provide everyone with an inclusive but competitive space in which they can get involved in team 40k, through online discussion, arranging practice games, and joining us for team practices, TTS scrims and events. We firmly believe that the best way to improve the performance of the national team is by increasing the overall skill level of the entire English 40k scene, and providing somewhere for people to come together and practice is the first step towards that goal.
No individual owns Team England - it belongs to all the people who have contributed to the team over the years, with many current and former members devoting hours upon hours to get us where we are today. Each year anyone who has been involved with the team in the prior 3 years is given the opportunity to stand for Captain (or as Co-Captains), and then the community votes on who will captain the team for that season. Although the event is in August each year, team selection and preparation for the event is a mammoth task, usually beginning within a month or so of the previous years event finishing, so for successful applicants the WTC is a year-long commitment.
