Our aim with Team England 40k is not just to create a team of top players who can compete with the very best in the world - it's also to build a strong community as a foundation for the national team.
So whether you're just starting at 40k or think you've got what it takes to represent England at the highest level of competition, there are plenty of ways you can get involved with the team and the wider community.
The first step to getting involved with Team England at any level is joining our Discord. This is where we'll make important announcements, arrange our TTS leagues and scrims, let you know about practice days and events you can apply to be part of, and much more.
To join the Discord simply install the Discord app on your phone and/or computer, create a Discord account, and then click here.
Note: Applications for the 2025 WTC are now closed and our selection process for the year is already underway, but if you are interested in applying in future you can still get involved with practice and preparation through the Team England community now (see below), which will give you a great foundation for next years application process.
If you'd like to represent England at the WTC, whether as a player or coach, you can find out more about the selection process in our 2025 Application Guide presentation here, and our 2025 Applicants chat on YouTube here. You'll also need to join our Discord as above, and then fill out our application form here to join the selection process.
The Team England Community is an initiative to bring together the many players and club teams that compete across England, giving them a place to discuss 40k, arrange TTS games and team scrims, and get involved with Team England in-person practices, events and WTC preparation.
The community has already been a success since launching earlier this year, with many active TTS games going on most evenings and plenty of discussion around factions, map packs and dataslates, focused towards the UK and WTC meta. We also encourage everyone to stream their games, so if you don't quite have time to play a game yourself you can still jump in and watch some of the action.
This community will be the foundation upon which the team is built going forwards, so if you're looking to get better at 40k and perhaps want to play or coach for the team at WTC one day, the community is a great place to start.
As part of our selection process we run two TTS Leagues throughout the year, one from October to December and another from January to March. Participation in both leagues is a requirement for WTC Applicants, but it's also open to Team England community members and any of our international friends that want to join in.
We also run a monthly 8v8 Community Scrim, where two teams are put together, paired against each other and play their games on TTS to simulate a WTC round. These again are open to anyone who wants to get involved, and we encourage applicants to join in as an additional opportunity to gain experience and show their skills in WTC format games.
Details on how to get involved in both our TTS Leagues and Community Scrims can be found in our Discord.
If you're part of another international team looking for TTS practice scrims, please also feel free to reach out to us via Discord. With almost 60 applicants for the 2025 WTC we have plenty of players looking for opportunities to test themselves against fellow WTC players and candidates.
We also run regular in-person practice days as part of our selection process, at venues around the country. We encourage applicants to attend these where possible, but they are also open to community members that want to come along. Check out our calendar for details of when these are taking place, and check the Events section of our discord to apply to attend. Please note that if we have more interested players than capacity then we may need to prioritise applicants over other community members.
